Civil Society Monitoring in Central and Eastern Europe - Austria
The survey is still open! You can still participate.
In a time of vivid political and social change in Europe, civil society in all its forms takes on an ever more important role. For this reason, it is vital to understand the specifics of the civil society sector in Europe as well as what changes it is undergoing in view of these facts.
The Competence Center for Nonprofit Organizations and Social Entrepreneurship at WU Vienna (University of Economics and Business) is currently conducting a monitoring study*) on the state of civil society in 16 countries**) in Central and Eastern Europe in collaboration with ERSTE Foundation and a group of country experts. Complementing existing expert assessments on civil society, we look to give a voice primarily to practitioners. Our study includes an online survey addressing a minimum of 100 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) per country, operating in various fields of activity. For this purpose, CSO representatives are being surveyed as practical experts for their respective fields of activity.
We kindly ask you to support our effort to raise awareness for the importance of civil society and complete the following questionnaire by October 30th, 2018! Please note that the survey language is English. It takes approximately 20 to 25 minutes to complete the survey.
How will my confidentiality be protected? We intend to protect your anonymity and the confidentiality of your responses to the fullest possible extent, within the limits of law. All information that you provide in the questionnaire will be treated as strictly confidential. Your anonymity will also be safeguarded in any publication of the results of research and only group results will be discussed and written up.
By means of this study, we aim to capture a snapshot of the current state of civil society in Europe. In future, it is planned to repeat the monitoring study on a regular basis. The final report (including the reports of all participating countries and an overview chapter) will be sent to all the participating CSOs and is expected by spring/summer of 2019.
We want to reach a reasonable sample of representatives of civil society in your country. Please forward this link to any other CSOs in your country that might be interested.
With best regards,
